MICRONEEDLE TREATMENT
Microneedling, also known as Collagen Induction Therapy, is a minimally invasive treatment that stimulates the skin’s natural healing process. Using the MD Needle Pen, tiny needles create micro-channels in the skin, triggering collagen and elastin production while promoting better blood flow. Unlike peels or lasers, microneedling does not damage the skin’s surface. The depth of the needles can be adjusted based on the treatment area and skin condition. This process improves skin texture, firmness, and tone while reducing scars, pore size, and stretch marks.

Minimal Risk of Side Effects

Microneedling is considered to have a low risk of side effects when performed by a trained professional. The procedure is safe for most people and can be customized based on individual needs.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR TREATMENT
• Discontinue use of blood thinning over-the-counter medications, such as aspirin or ibuprofen-based medications, Omega-3, Vitamin E, Garlic, St. John's Wort, Ginkgo Biloba seven days prior to treatment. Check with your doctor before discontinuing prescribed medications such as aspirin or an anticoagulant for a cardiovascular condition.
• Two weeks prior to your treatment, avoid waxing or chemical depilatories in the area to be treated.
• For a minimum of one week prior to your treatment, no botox or fillers, avoid excessive sun exposure or use of tanning beds.
• One week prior to your treatment, avoid using topical products containing active ingredients such as retinol, AHA's (e.g. glycolic, lactic, salicylic acid) or acidic ingredients.
WHAT TO ANTICIPATE FOLLOWING YOUR SERVICE
You will likely experience redness and mild swelling similar to a slight sunburn immediately after treatment, which can last from a few hours to a day or so depending on the depth of treatment. It is normal to expect minor pinpoint bleeding during your treatment, but this should dissipate fairly quickly. For deeper treatments, you can expect the skin to feel dry and itchy, with minor flaking for a few days. Though it is rare, some may experience minor breakouts after their treatment. This is due to the release of toxins and old collagen fibers from below the surface of the skin, which is good.

We advise our guests not to touch the skin for a few hours. Should you choose to use makeup, we recommend Jane Iredale Skincare Makeup, safe to use post-microneedle. You will be sent home with a sample hyaluronic acid to care for your skin after your procedure.

CONTRAINDICTIONS
-
Active Skin Infections – Conditions like bacterial, viral (e.g., herpes simplex/cold sores), or fungal infections.
-
Severe Acne or Open Wounds – Active acne lesions, cystic acne, or unhealed wounds can increase the risk of infection and irritation.
-
Skin Cancer or Precancerous Lesions – Microneedling should not be performed over cancerous or suspicious lesions.
-
Keloid or Hypertrophic Scarring Tendency – Individuals prone to excessive scarring should avoid microneedling.
-
Blood Clotting Disorders or Use of Blood Thinners – Conditions such as hemophilia or use of anticoagulants increase the risk of excessive bleeding.
-
Autoimmune Diseases Affecting Skin Healing – Conditions like lupus or scleroderma can interfere with proper wound healing.
-
Uncontrolled Diabetes – Poor circulation and delayed healing make microneedling unsafe for those with poorly managed diabetes.
-
Pregnancy or Breastfeeding – While microneedling itself may not be harmful, many serums and aftercare products may not be safe for pregnant or nursing individuals.
-
Recent Use of Accutane (Isotretinoin) – Microneedling should be avoided for at least 6–12 months after Accutane use due to increased skin sensitivity and healing impairment.
-
Recent Radiation Therapy or Chemotherapy – The skin may be too fragile and compromised for microneedling.
-
Skin Conditions like Eczema, Psoriasis, or Dermatitis – Active flare-ups can worsen with microneedling.
If any of these apply, an alternative treatment may be recommended.
